Air Canada 319-100 – Smoke in Cabin

Incident Date: 2018-03-20

C-GBIP, an Airbus 319-100 aircraft operated by Air Canada, was conducting flight ACA715 from New York/LaGuardia, NY (KLGA) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ). During the climb after the departure from KLGA, the cabin crew observed smoke in the cabin/galley section for a few moments. There was no alarm, no dirty pack smell and no electrical smell. The cabin was reported as very warm. The flight continued to CYYZ without further event.
A post maintenance inspection of the forward and aft galleys was conducted on the related equipment. Contaminated heating pads were found in the aft galley and were cleaned.
