Corn Causes Ground Loop

The privately owned Luscombe 8A aircraft (C-FAEU) was landing on a private strip nearPeterborough, ON. After touchdown, the left wing contacted mature corn adjacent to the runway and the aircraft ground looped to the left. During the ground loop the right wing dropped and contacted the ground, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot was not injured. The weather was reported as CAVOK, with calm wind conditions.
