Crosswind Accident

June 9/14-The Capital Airways Cessna T206H, registration C-FRBV, was operating on a VFR flight to reposition the aircraft from Sydney, NS to Stephenville, NL (CYJT) with the pilot and one passenger on board. At CYJT, the pilot received an aerodrome advisory and was landing on runway 27 with winds reported to be 330° at 15 knots. With crosswind flight control inputs applied, the aircraft touched down on the right main wheel unexpectedly when the gust subsided momentarily in the flare. Conrol was lost and the aircraft departed the right side of the runway. The right wing struck the ground and the aircraft incurred a propeller strike before coming to rest north of the runway. ARFF responded and acted to contain a small fuel leak from the right wing. The pilot and passenger were able to exit the aircraft. The pilot was uninjured and the passenger was transported to a local hospital for an assessment and released shortly thereafter. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
