Red Light Means…

Nov. 21/14-The privately operated Piper PA-28R-200, C-GGDB, departed the Calgary/Springbank (CYBW) airport on a local sightseeing flight. Not too long after departure, the aircraft’s electrical systems began to fail. Eventually all radio communications were lost and the aircraft returned to CYBW NORDO. The tower gave the pilot a green light for landing which was changed to a red light when the controller noticed that the landing gear was not down. The aircraft landed with the landing gear in the retracted position resulting in minimal damage and no injuries to the pilot or passenger.
