Air Canada – Airbus 319-100 – Cabin Pressurization Issue

2018-07-19
C-GARO, an Airbus 319-100 aircraft operated by Air Canada rouge, was conducting flight ROU1692 from Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) to Halifax/Stanfield Intl, NS (CYHZ) with a crew of 3 and 129 passengers on board. While in cruise flight, the flight crew encountered a pressurization problem and attempts to rectify the issue were unsuccessful. The flight crew declared an emergency and conducted an emergency descent to 10 000 feet. The aircraft was then diverted to Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) where the aircraft landed without further incident. The oxygen masks did not deploy. The operator’s maintenance replaced the number 2 engine bleed air pressurization regulator valve and released the aircraft back to service.
