C-FORD, a tail-wheel-equipped amateur-built BD 4, was operating at the Pitt Meadows (CYPK), BC airport. While approaching the active runway the brakes were applied to hold short and the aircraft tipped onto its nose. The (wood) propeller was destroyed and the lower engine cowl was
slightly damaged but the aircraft remained otherwise undamaged.
The pilot was not injured.
