Cessna P206B – Engine Failure – Corn Field Landing

2018-06-29
C-FGHM, a Cessna P206B aircraft operated by Southwestern Ontario Organization of Parachutists, was returning to land at Dundas Air Plaza, ON, after dropping parachutists. During the descent, the engine (Teledyne Continental IO-520-FCA) lost power and started to smoke. The pilot conducted a forced landing into a cornfield, near the Dundas Air Plaza. There was no damage to the aircraft during the landing, and the pilot was uninjured. Initial investigation by the pilot found the oil filter adapter had failed.
