172 Flips, No Injuries

April 12/14-The pilot of C-GZHQ, a Cessna 172N registered to the Abbotsford Flying Club, was conducting a touch-and-go on runway 26L at CYPK (Pitt Meadows Airport). When the aircraft did not accelerate for take-off as anticipated the take-off was aborted but the pilot was unable to stop the aircraft before it struck a runway end indicator light, exited the paved surface into the grass, and flipped over. The four occupants were not injured, but the aircraft was substantially damaged.
