DHC-8-314 – Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Near Miss

C-GLKY, a Bombardier DHC-8-314 aircraft operated by Perimeter Aviation Lp, was conducting
flight PAG997 from Saskatoon/John G. Diefenbaker Intl, SK (CYXE) to Regina Intl, SK (CYQR).
When the aircraft was 3.8 nautical miles from Runway 31 at CYQR on final approach and at an
altitude of 3300 feet ASL, the flight crew observed an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) pass by the left side of the aircraft. The UAV was estimated to be approximately 50 metres from the aircraft laterally and at the same altitude. The aircraft subsequently landed uneventfully and CYQR Tower was advised of the incident.
