An online alternative to the rust remover method of satisfying Transport Canada’s recurrency requirements is being offered by Elevate Aviation. The non-profit organization will live stream a free TC-approved recurrency program on Aug. 22 from Villeneuve Airport near Edmonton from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mountain time. Organizers will keep a list of active participants that will satisfy the TC requirement. Those who want to take advantage of the opportunity can sign up through their Web site and they will be sent a link to log into the session. A short quiz will be taken after the session to make sure those who log in actually attend the session.
Dina Jammaz, one of the organizers, said it’s a way for the group to help during the pandemic. “With Covid people are unable to enjoy live recurrency training. We began to work with our employers (we are air traffic service providers, pilots, AMEs, and others) and Transport Canada to create this event. It is a way to give back to the aviation community that has always supported us.”
