Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre will host its annual Girls Can Fly event on May 14. “The event will be similar to last year in that we will offer free flights for girls aged 8-18 years and provide a fun and educational occasion to spark their interest in aviation,” the flight school said in a news release. “The event will also feature women in the aviation industry, including pilots, engineers, and flight instructors, as well as young women in the pilot training program.”
The event has become an aviation community get together with hundreds of people touring the facilities and visiting booths set up by aviation companies. “We are looking for exhibitors who have an aviation, education, science or engineering aspect to their organization to have a table/display with an interactive feature for attendees,” the school said. “It is the hope that this will provide a memorable experience.”
