A Nova Scotia drone pilot has been charged with stealing numerous pieces of construction equipment after using the drone to scout his targets. Zachary Woodworth was spotted by witnesses operating his drone over landscaping and construction business yards and is alleged to have taken five chainsaws to sell on Facebook. The saws were recovered and returned after the local police tracked down the buyer, who paid $1,000 for them.
Police in Lunenburg County think the chainsaws, which were engraved with the rightful owner’s company name, are just a start. “Starting in the fall of 2021, Lunenburg County has received numerous reports of construction tool and equipment thefts that are believed to be related and committed by the same suspect: Zachary Woodworth,” RCMP Const. Alexander Tucker said in a court filing.
