Stick Shaker Activated

Dec. 1/13-The DHC8-400, registration C-FSRJ, operated by Sky Regional Airlines as flight AC7512 was on final approach runway 24L at Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl airport when the aircraft encountered a significant wind shift which resulted in a loss of speed that triggered the stick shaker. The captain who was the pilot monitoring took control of the aircraft, regained normal speed and the aircraft carried out an uneventful landing. The 1700 METAR indicated wind from 230 at 37kts with gust to 54 kts.This incident is being investigated by the company in accordnace with its SMS Program.
