Aug. 8/14-The Alpine Helicopters Bell 212 C-FAHB was struck by lightning while engaged in water bucketing activities on Fire 20173 in B.C. M/R rotor blade damage was evident. Mandatory Inspections include overhaul of the Transmission, M/R hub, mast, tail rotor and gearboxes. Damage also occurred to numerous avionics components and engine instruments. The helicopter was trailered to the company’s maintainence facility for repair.
