A rear wheel of the Northrop Nomad is very much intact after being underwater in Lake Muskoka since the plane collided with another Northrop during a search mission crashing into the lake. The two aircraft and four airmen were listed as missing and a search began for the searchers. Nomad 3512 was found in January 1941 and the other aircraft was discovered by Ontario Provincial Police on July 10 some 70 years after its fateful crash. in 2012 the remains of the fallen airmen were recovered Lieutenant Peter Campbell and Leading Aircraftsman Theodore Bates. The plane has been salvaged and on display at the Pride of Muskoka Marina for the Remembrance Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 3 in Bracebridge.
