Lost Pressurization

Jan. 28/15-Westjet Encore Flt. 3214, a DHC-8-400, C-FOWE, departed the Thunder Bay airport with a crew of four and 19 passengers on board. While climbing through 14000 feet, a loud bang was heard and the aircraft lost pressurization. The crew declared an emergency and began a descent to 10000 feet. The aircraft then returned to Thunder Bay where it landed safely. An inspection of the system revealed that the aft cargo door seal was damaged. The door seal was replaced and the aircraft was returned to service. A Service Difficulty Report was filed with Transport Canada.
