The Air Transport Association of Canada, founded in 1934 as the Commercial Air Transport and Manufacturers’ Association of Canada, returned to the West Coast for the first time since 2018 for their 88th annual conference, AGM and trade show.
Normally alternating between Montreal and Vancouver, the 2020 event was cancelled due to the pandemic. ATAC went ahead with the 2021 Montreal event, but it was poorly attended due mainly to the ongoing pandemic restrictions. This year’s Vancouver event, held at the Westin Bayshore Hotel, saw a record number of participating trade show booths and attendees.
As a trade association, ATAC aims to represent the interests of commercial aviation and the flight training industry in Canada. It is based in Ottawa where lobbying efforts with Transport Canada and Nav Canada senior management are best facilitated.
