C-GKUK, a Bombardier DHC-8-400 aircraft operated by Jazz Aviation LP, was conducting flight JZA8909 from Greater Moncton Roméo Leblanc Intl (CYQM), NB to Montreal/Pierre Elliott Trudeau Intl (CYUL), QC with 4 crew members and 61 passengers on board.
During cruise flight at 16 000 feet, the aircraft experienced a loss of cabin pressure, accompanied by a loud popping sound heard from the back of the aircraft.
The flight crew donned their oxygen masks, initiated an
emergency descent to 10 000 feet, and declared a PAN PAN. The flight continued to destination without further incident.
The operator’s maintenance identified a leak from a faulty cargo door seal.
