King Air Slides Into Gate

Jan. 10/14-The Beech 200, registration C-FCGW, operated by Air Nunavut Ltd was taxiing to the fuel pump after landing at Sanikiluaq. While in a turn on the apron, the crew lost directionnel control of the aircraft due to ice on the apron. The crew attempted the use of reverse thrust to stop the aircraft but caused a turning motion and the left wing tip struck a chain link fence gate which was frozen in the open position.The gate had no reflector markings. The gate was slightly bent over due to the impact. The left wing was damaged and the aircraft is grounded until repaired.
