Nav Canada will stop selling printed copies of the Canada Air Pilot (CAP) a year from now. The final print version will be produced for the Sept. 10, 2020 interval. The CAP is already available in electronic form at the Nav Canada store but the printed version is stocked by pilot shops and suppliers and also available directly from Nav Canada.
The CAP contains updated information required by IFR pilots, particularly for the departure and arrival phases of flight, including current approach plates, procedures navaid information and noise abatement measures. It is published every 56 days in accordance with the worldwide schedule mandated by the international Civil Aviation Organization. In recent years, many pilots have stopped ordering the printed version in favour of keeping an electronic version in their electronic flight bag or iPad.
