C-GEWR, a Bombardier DHC-8-400 aircraft operated by WestJet Encore, was conducting flight WEN3351 from Calgary Intl, AB (CYYC) for Edmonton Intl, AB (CYEG).
Shortly after the departure from CYYC, the flight crew reported that the nose landing gear would not retract.
The flight continued to CYEG and, on initial descent, the flight crew requested ARFF to be standing by for the landing as a precaution. The flight landed without further incident, and the landing gear was inspected prior to taxiing to the gate.
The operator’s maintenance found the landing gear locked sensors out of rig and loose. They were rigged as required and the aircraft was returned to service.
