Hadfield New Ninety-Nines President

A well-known face around aviation events in Ontario is stepping onto the world stage as the first non-U.S. president of the Ninety-Nines. Robin Hadfield was recently elected to the post. She’s been active in the Ninety-Nines and most recently served as the First Canadian, Eastern Canada regional representative. In a news release, the Ninety-Nines noted that it’s been 93 years since the advocacy organization was founded by Amelia Earhart and that choosing a Canadian president is fitting since Canada was the first country outside of the U.S. to be invited into the organization.

“Sitting in the seat of women who have made aviation history, such as Amelia Earhart (the first president of the 99s, and today is still the most recognized name in womens aviation,), Jackie Cochran (everyone should know her name and accomplishments, which still stand today), Lousie Thadden (an aviation legend and holder of many records for altitude, endurance and air racing) , Blanche Noyes (one of the first ten women to hold a pilot license, and aviation world record holder), Betty Gilles (first pilot to qualify for the WAFS), and so many other very accomplished women in aviation is daunting, but something I look forward to taking on!”, said Hadfield.
