Air Canada – Embraer ERJ 190-100 – Engine Failure – Diversion to Alt Airport

2018-07-24
C-FMZR, an Embraer ERJ 190-100 aircraft operated by Air Canada, was conducting flight ACA687 from St. John’s Intl, NL (CYYT) to Toronto/Lester B. Pearson Intl, ON (CYYZ). After reaching cruise altitude, the number 2 engine oil pressure indication began decreasing. The flight crew followed the QRH and shut the engine (General Electric CF34-10E5A1) down. The flight crew declared a PAN PAN and requested a diversion to Halifax/Stanfield Intl, NS (CYHZ) where the aircraft landed without further incident. The operator’s maintenance is investigating.
