Long Walk to the Terminal

May 11/14-The de Havilland Dash 8, C-GUON, operated by Jazz from Smithers to Vancouver was in the climb at about 19000 feet when the No. 2 engine torque indication went to zero, and the No. 2 fuel pressure caution light came on. A precautionary shut down of the No. 2 engine was carried out and an emergency declared. The aircraft returned to Smithers. The passengers were briefed and the flight landed uneventfully with ARFF on standby. ARFF observed fluid leaking from the subject engine during the taxi and requested the aircraft to park at the edge of the ramp area; the passengers deplaned and walked about 300 meters to the terminal building.
