Canada Jetlines took an important hop toward certification with an inspection flight last week. Transport Canada inspectors were aboard the airline’s single A320 for the roundtrip from Kitchener/Waterloo to Moncton, New Brunswick. Assuming they approved of the performance of the crew and airplane the fledgling airline’s next step is the issuance of an Air Operator Certificate.
“We are extremely proud of our operations team for successfully completing this comprehensive program with Transport Canada,” said CEO Eddy Doyle. There are only a few administrative items for Transport Canada to complete before issuing the AOC, which is expected to be completed within the next two weeks.” Canada Jetlines plans to grow to 23 A320s serving sun destinations in the U.S. and Caribbean.
