WestJet Pilots have voted 91% for Strike Action

The Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) has released a statement indicating that WestJet members have voted 91 per cent in favour of strike action.

Capt. Rob McFadyen, chairman of WestJet’s ALPA Master Executive Council, said that pilots are looking for a contract that brings “stability to the airline”. He also said that he hoped to avoid a strike. “It’s clear WestJet pilots are ready to stand up for the fair contract we deserve—one that puts us in line with our peers across the industry,” McFadyen said.

WestJet president and CEO Ed Sims said officials will continue negotiations to “drive a sustainable agreement” for everyone….source-Global News
