Homebuilt Crash Kills Pilot

Aug. 18/13-The privately operated Kitfox V homebuilt aircraft was carrying out low and over flights on the pilot’s newly constructed airstrip near Barss Corner NS. During the third flight, the aircraft was on a left base to final turn when it pitched over and entered a right-hand spin. The aircraft impacted the ground in a near vertical condition. A post-crash fire ensued which destroyed the aircraft. The pilot, who was the sole occupant, was fatally injured.
