Pilotless Citabria Hits Medicine Hat House

The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash of a pilotless Citabria that crashed into the back deck of a house under construction in Medicine Hat on Tuesday. The plane apparently got away from someone who was working on it at Schlenker Airport, a grass strip about four miles south of the crash site. The plane is a write-off but the house was barely damaged.

The owner of the home Jenman Luk said he’s happy the accident happened after hours after workers had left for the day.Luk said the owner of the airplane phoned him to apologize. “It just took off. Once the engine started, it just took right off,” Luk quoted the owner as saying.
