Privately registered Maule M-5-210C aircraft on floats-fuel issue

C-GORG, a privately registered Maule M-5-210C aircraft on floats, was on a local solo training flight out of Watson Lake, BC. During the return back to Watson Lake, the aircraft ran out of fuel.
The pilot attempted a forced landing in a pasture at One Hundred Mile House, and sustained minor injuries; the aircraft sustained substantial damage when the propeller contacted terrain, and one of the floats collapsed.
