Student Flips 172 At Kelowna

Oct. 4/13-The student pilot of a Cessna 172, C-GHYG, was performing touch and go exercises on runway 16 at Kelowna airport when the aircraft departed the runway about mid-field, and crashed inverted in a ditch about 300 feet east of the runway. The pilot extricated himself from the aircraft and walked away. The aircraft was leaking fuel so the TSB authorized its immediate removal.
