March 29/14_While enroute from Toronto to Calgary the cabin crew of a Westjet Boeing 737-600, C-GXWJ, flight WJA665, noticed a burning electrical smell in the vicinity of rows 8 to 12 in the cabin. The flight crew declared an emergency and diverted to Thunder Bay where the aircraft landed safely with ARFF in attendance. The electrical smell was traced to a fault in a Live TV entertainment box under seat row 9 ABC. The entertainment system was disabled and the aircraft continued to Calgary under the company’s MEL. An SDR will be submitted to Transport Canada.
